Starry night on Vaadhoo beach
Yet I am not dreaming!
I don’t even think I’ve had a lot of drinking, but it’s like the world has turned upside down.
I look down and am stunned, instead of finding what would be normal, I see the stars! My eyes settle and let themselves be carried away by thousands of luminescent dots that create a starry pathway defined by the rhythm of the waves.

Walking the steps sink into the still lukewarm sand, and the feet are shrouded in the peace of the stars, while the slight breeze with a taste of salt brings with it dreamy sighs.
It could be just a fairy tale, but it’s an amazing nature to give us this vision.
On Vaadhoo beach, in the Maldives and more precisely in Huvadhu Atoll (the largest in the world by number of islands), this show repeats itself every summer thanks to a phenomenon that takes the name of bioluminescence.
Tiny forms of marine plant life, are deposited on the sand and, as a result of chemical reactions, light up like thousands of blue LEDs.
