A long cycle path … from Turin to Milan!
The Piedmont and Lombard cyclists will be happy that in 2020 they will see the birth of a cycle path that will connect the cities of Turin and Milan.
For 82 kilometers it will be possible to go on two wheels in all serenity and joy.
This is what emerges from the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Piedmont Region, the provinces of Vercelli and Novara, the owners of the Ticino Park and the Po Park, and the parks of the Collina Torinese and Lake Garda.
Wanted by Count Camillo Benso di Cavour in the nineteenth century, a cycle path of just under 30 kilometers runs along the Canale Cavour – an artificial canal built to support agriculture – will now become part of an extraordinary cycle path called to connect the two main cities of northern Italy.
The starting point will be between Chivasso and Crescentino, then, along the Canale Cavour, the route will reach Galliate and Ticino. At the height of Turbigo it will join the already existing cycle path that, from Sesto Calende, reaches up to Milan and runs alongside the Navigli.
